"It's a heavy burden to look up at the mountain and want to start the climb." - Abby Wambach
Seems like the right quote as it is time to start building yet again for Sept races.
Monday:
6 AM: 5.7 miles averaging 7:20pace. Easy lap of Davidson Mesa and Harper. Felt super chill overall but was
the best pace I've had in the last week. Think the body is starting to
rebound from Western.
4 PM: 37mins in the garage gym.
Warmup: Rowing and mobility
4 Rounds
500m rowing
5 strict pull-ups
20 push-ups
20 GHD Sit-ups
Little bit of core work with the kettlebell afterwards to get in my 35mins.

Tuesday:
6 AM: 6 miles averaging 7:35pace. Easy pre-work jog from the office. Lap around the CTC on the roads and a
little bit of Coal Creek Trail coming back. Felt super chill keeping
the HR mostly under 130. Legs are still somewhat heavy.
-- Paula and I are trying to decide if we leave this evening to start towards Silverton for the weekend or just leave early in the morning. I lean towards getting some of the drive over with, isn't that the whole point of having the van?
2 PM: 36mins lifting in the garage before hitting the road to start wondering towards Silverton.
Light leg session.
Warmup: Rowing, leg crossover, and mobility
Light back Squats- 5x10
KB Romanian Deadlifts w/ 70lb- 4x10
Single leg calf raises w/ 25lbs- 4x10
KB Toe raises w/10lb- 3x15
Wednesday:
2 PM: 5.7miles w/ 1100ft of vert averaging 10:30pace. Easy run from the campsite up Kendall Mountain road with Donnie.
Basically up 30ish mins easy then cruise easy back down, Just a chunky
4x4 road. Most likely will do the same on Thursday. Really feeling the altitude on the climbs, have not really been up high much this year.
Thursday:
-NOTE: Weight check in: Nope... travelling
-- Was planning on getting out today but between working remotely in the coffee shop in Silverton and loading up all the aid station supplies for Ouray it just did not happen. The day was packed full of work and Hardrock stuff. All good though. Drove a van full of supplies down to Ouray and spent the night down there so we could get up and get right to work in the morning setting up the aid station.
-- Got going around 7am setting up the aid station. Spent the next 40 hours setting up Ouray, supporting runners, then tearing down the aid on Saturday morning after the cut off. Paula and I ended up supporting the aid station for that long due to all the no show volunteers that either bailed or did not show up (12 people total). Such bullshit, if you sign up you show, especially for this when a lot of people are depending on you. Like I stated above we ended up working for almost 40 hours straight due to this but it still a good time! Got to support a lot of friends along with everyone else. We left around noon on Saturday and started the drive home. The plan was to go until we needed to sleep then pull over to do so but we ended up making it all the way home getting there about 7pm. Long damn weekend but worth it! Even the dog is wiped.
Fun week for sure but really bad on the training side. All good though, rest is not a bad thing coming back from States. With that said, 10 weeks to the next 100. Time to get back to it.
