Training: Solid year training wise, just to bad there really was no races to test the fitness. Working from home most of the year has made it super easy to get in all the extra walks and lifting sessions in the garage gym. The bike was a non-factor this year and I really miss the skiing this year so that will be a change for 2021. Here is how 2020 breaks down.
How does that compare to the past years? Well this is an interesting view of the last 13 years. Huge increase in total time and activities in 2020 verses 2019. Being a single guy again with nothing better to do, I see the trend continuing for 2021.
Races:
Races, what races... About everything I had planned after the month of March was cancelled and moved to 2021. Did have a solid showing at Quadrock though, so that is a win. Fuck Covid! Anyways here is the list of
all the organized races and/or events from the year. Way down from the normal 20-30 events I do in a given year.
2020 Races/Events
- Coldwater Rumble 20K 1/18/20 (1:27:50 4th)
- 4x4x48 Challenge 4/24/2020 (Good times with friends!)
- Quadrock 25 miler 8/15/20 (4:10:33 5th)
- Pikes Peak Marathon 8/23/2020 (DNS)
Books:
Got in a solid 30
books this year. All over the place on my books and no real theme like in years past. Not
sure where my book list will go this year. As I am writing this it is 1-11-2021 and I already have 3 books read for 2021 so that could trend up this year.
Review of Goals for 2020:
I did not really set any at the beginning of the year therefore have none to review. My only real goal in 2020 was to re-qualify for Hardrock at Run Rabbit Run 100 which of course got cancelled and I will be running in 2021.
Now on to some loose top 10 goals for 2021 (of course I have a bunch more that are weight room, running and work focused that are not listed here)
1. Re-qualify for the Hardrock lottery
2. Peak a week in 2021
3. Travel somewhere new for a race
4. Run Coaching Certification
5. Read at least 30 books
6. Sky Dive
7. Leave the lower 48 states- possible due to Covid???
8. Travel somewhere I have never been if I can't leave the lower 48
9. Keep the Blog more updated
10. Backpacking on the Colorado trail for 3-7 days
HAPPY NEW YEARS AND MAY 2021 BE YOUR BEST YET!
